Capture Your Michigan Wedding in a Unique Work of Art
Your wedding deserves more than just photos — it deserves a piece of art created in the very atmosphere of your celebration. From the historic elegance of Detroit’s theaters to the lush gardens of Grand Rapids and the vibrant campus spaces in Lansing, I capture your ceremony and reception in real time, translating the architecture, light, and emotion into a timeless painting.
Whether your celebration takes place along Detroit’s riverfront, in the heart of Lansing, or among Grand Rapids’ botanical beauty, I focus on the unique energy of your venue and the moments that make your day unforgettable. The result is a one-of-a-kind heirloom that reflects the spirit of Michigan and the joy of your wedding day — a keepsake you’ll treasure for generations.
Your Love Story, Captured on Canvas
As a live wedding painter Michigan couples choose, I do more than capture the scene — I intentionally weave your love story into the artwork itself. While many artists focus solely on the moment, I incorporate a meaningful detail unique to you, from subtle symbols to cherished locations.
This signature approach sets my work apart, transforming your painting into not just a reflection of your wedding day, but a layered, deeply personal expression of your journey together.
Romantic Realism — A Painting That Truly Looks Like You
Unlike many live wedding paintings that focus only on atmosphere, my style blends elegance with accuracy. Through romantic realism, I carefully capture your features, expressions, and posture so the finished artwork genuinely resembles you — not just a bride and groom, but you.
An Unforgettable Experience for Your Guests
During your wedding, guests can watch your first dance or ceremony come to life in real time. Live wedding painting becomes both entertainment and art — an interactive experience they’ll talk about long after the celebration ends.
A Heirloom That Lasts Beyond the Wedding Day
Well beyond your wedding day, your live wedding painting continues to hold its place in your life. Displayed in your home, it becomes a daily reflection of the vows you exchanged and the moment your marriage began.

“Caleb is an immensely talented artist! He painted a portrait at my daughter’s wedding, and guests greatly enjoyed watching him during the reception. He was personable to every person that approached him and talked with him.
Caleb was incredibly kind and proactive during the initial inquiry to hire him. I thought he was too good to be true, but he was the real deal— helpful, proactive, courteous, and reliable.
My daughter’s painting turned out so beautifully! She has it proudly displayed in her entryway of her home. It will be enjoyed for many years to come.”

“Caleb traveled approximately 200 miles to do a live painting for our son’s wedding reception.
Our guests loved watching Caleb create the painting and our new daughter in law was very pleased with his work!

Some things that set Michigan weddings apart
Michigan is full of amazing venues. Here are some of my favorite:
Detroit Opera House, Detroit
Rich with historic grandeur and architectural detail, the Detroit Opera House offers an elegant setting for ceremonies and receptions alike. Its ornate interiors, high ceilings, and sweeping balconies create a dramatic backdrop that translates beautifully in paintings.
Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, Lansing
Located on the Michigan State University campus, the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center blends classic elegance with modern amenities for weddings of all sizes. Versatile event spaces, refined architectural lines, and lush campus surroundings make it perfect for couples seeking a balance of tradition and contemporary style.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is an unforgettable venue where natural beauty and artistic design come together. Surrounded by vibrant gardens and glass-roofed conservatories, every angle offers visual depth and light ideal for a wedding painting.
Things for your guests to do in the state of Michigan:
Belle Isle Conservatory & Park, Detroit
A historic greenhouse and botanical garden on the Detroit River, this charming conservatory and the surrounding park offer scenic walking paths, lush plant displays, and peaceful river views — a great stop for nature lovers.
Impression 5 Science Center, Lansing
An interactive science museum that’s great for adults and families alike; visitors explore hands‑on exhibits designed around the five senses and playful learning. Guests can experiment with physics, technology, and biology in engaging, hands-on activities that make science exciting for all ages.
Grand Rapids Public Museum, Grand Rapids
Explore local history, rotating exhibits, a planetarium, and even a classic 1920s carousel — a fun and educational stop right on the riverfront. From historic artifacts to immersive displays, it offers a unique way to experience the culture and heritage of Grand Rapids.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I use professional grade oil to ensure superior quality. Paintings are completed on canvas.
-
This depends on where the wedding is held in Michigan as my travel fees are based on mileage from Columbus, Ohio to the wedding location. To give an estimate, here are my travel fees to the following cities: downtown Detroit would be $150, downtown Lansing would be $200, downtown Grand Rapids would be $370, and downtown Bay City would be $330. When you inquire, I’d be happy to provide you with an exact quote for your wedding.
-
Yes! I offer many add ons, including frames, additional paintings, additional people, pets, etc.
-
My turnaround time is 6-8 weeks. This enables enough time to do adequate touch ups, to allow for drying of the oil paint, and to apply a varnishing prior to shipping.
-
No, there is no additional fee to ship the final painting from my studio back to you.
